With a league-topping 8 goals and 4 assists, Elano Blumer - Elano to fans - had set the Hero Indian Super League 2014 on fire. The Brazilian World Cupper and Chennaiyin FC’s marquee player for both seasons, fans are surely bound to expect him to take the Tamil team beyond the semis this time!

Rehenesh T.P.


Last year, he was lauded by many sporting greats for his tough, underrated performance as a custodian. This season, Rehenesh is bound to bounce back for North East United FC, bettering on his 2014 performance of 17 saves out of 21 shots. This Kerala lad, who plays for Shillong Lajong in the I-League, is keen on seeing the Assam-based side reach the finals this time.

Iain Hume


Born in Scotland, raised in Canada, but creating hell for defenders far away in India! This striker was one of Kerala Blasters FC’s top performers for ISL 2014 season, eventually clinching the Hero of the League Award. This year, his loyalties have changed from God’s Own Country to ISL 2014 winners Atletico de Kolkata. Expect nothing else but magic!

Roberto Carlos


The party sirens must have started ringing throughout the country, especially Delhi, when they finalised their marquee signing for ISL Season 2 – Roberto Carlos! He was an integral part of the mighty Brazilian national side which grew famous from a few years ago. Having joined as a player-cum-coach, he is sure to be watched out for, not to mention bombarded with questions about ‘how on earth did he manage to take that free-kick?!’

Sandesh Jhingan


One of India’s young guns, a diamond in the rough, Sandesh Jhingan showed a lot of promise while guarding Kerala Blasters FC against all possible calamities. The ISL 2014 Emerging Player of the Tournament title is a fitting testament to that. 14 appearances, 2 assists and 21 crosses – such statistics from the Chandigarh lad were sure to impress the Sachin Tendulkar-owned club. His performance in the upcoming season is going to be quite a sight.

Adrian Mutu


Rising from the ashes like a phoenix, Romanian powerhouse Adrian Mutu has impressed fans and critics alike. From his Chelsea debacle to his sobered-up, stellar performance with Serie A side Fiorentina, Mutu has been nothing short of exemplary on the wings and strike force. Welcomed by Pune City FC as their marquee signing, this seasoned forward should be a treat to watch, given the totally new Indian climate to be faced by him. Not to mention the chanting, thumping army of fans!

Eugeneson Lyngdoh


He created big time news when he was picked up by FC Pune City in the ISL Auction for a whopping amount. Yes, considering that this would be Eugeneson Lyngdoh’s debut season for the Indian Super League! From the go, his eyes have been on the prize – Eugeneson wants nothing but the title for FC Pune City this year. It was this attitude of his that was spotted by scouts on the I-League circuit, which got him to ply his trade for Shillong Lajong and later, Bengaluru FC.
