Divesh Vora, 29, works with a digital media advertising firm and roots for Rohit Sharma and the Indian national team. He tries to play at least once a month, if not once a week. He is especially proud of an inter-school win for his Marwari Vidyalaya High School.
Which is your favourite sport? How did you fall in love with it?
Lawn tennis. It is a one-man show, compared to football where one or two persons not playing affects the whole team. In lawn tennis, you need a lot of strength and stamina. I fell in love with the game because of Roger Federer and the way he works his backhand.
What difficulties do you face in playing sports?
Work-life balance mainly. Juggling social life, family, everything. We leave around 10-11 PM every day. Today, we left early to play. We have planning to play since ten days now. We even postponed a couple of times.
How are you currently overcoming these difficulties?
Once we decide internally that we will play, everyone gets aligned to that schedule and we manage accordingly.
What message do you have for people who love sport but give up because of their work?
See, one thing about work is that work never finishes and there will always be tomorrow, so try to find one time during the month. And not everyone can go to the gym to work out, so this is the best way to stay fit and enjoy the moments together. It’s like a get-together also.
